Melt Simulator for Blender: Gooey Goodness Without the Mess

CGMatter’s Melt Simulator for Blender 4.3 introduces particle, instance, and mesh modes, plus UV advection and time-based melting triggers.

CGMatter has released the Melt Simulator, a specialized fluid engine designed for Blender 4.3 and newer versions. This tool focuses on simulating the melting of objects, producing realistic sand, liquid, or gooey textures.

The simulator offers three primary modes:

  • Particles: Utilizes particles for the simulation.
  • Instances: Places small cubes on every point, which can be necessary for rendering in Cycles.
  • Mesh: Creates a “skin” over the particle system.(kode80.com)

An experimental feature includes UV advection support, allowing the original UV coordinates to be preserved even as the object deforms. This feature performs best with high-resolution simulations.

Unlike Blender’s native fluid simulation, Melt Simulator enables users to trigger melting over time using activator objects.

Melt Simulator is available as part of the Genie bundle, which also includes Pencil Pro, another tool by CGMatter designed for achieving a hand-drawn look. Alternatively, it can be purchased separately for 10$.

Note: As with any new tool, it’s advisable to test the Melt Simulator in a controlled environment before integrating it into critical projects.
